Construction Engineering Management Emphasis

Connecting Industry with Students and Students with Industry

CEM students visit a construction site at 22nd and Kino in Tucson

The University of Arizona Construction Engineering Management emphasis within the bachelor’s degree in civil engineering combines the business of construction with the technical side of engineering through classes, seminars and extracurricular activities.

The CEM emphasis builds upon the ABET-accredited foundation of the department of civil engineering and engineering mechanics by offering technical electives in construction management, scheduling, and quantity take-off and cost estimating. Additional opportunities – including seminars on leadership, internships, construction site visits, guest speakers, and clubs and competitions – give students real-world experiences and job connections.
